HB 705/SB 922 – http://mgaleg.maryland.gov/2014RS/bills/hb/hb0705T.pdf is pending in the Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee and we hope that you will contact Senate Judicial Proceedings Committee Chairman Brian Frosh to add the bill on a voting list and pass it this session.

The bill addresses a problem when there is no one available to protect the interests of a crime victim in circumstances where a court makes a finding that the victims interests are not otherwise adequately protected.

The applicable ABA policy to child victims supports assisting child victims, but those issues can be equally applicable to elderly and disabled victims:
