Karen Darby is a retired director of the Division of Parole and Probation Victim Services Unit under the Department of Public Safety and Correctional Services. She served as the Director of DPP VSU from September 2013 until February 2025. Prior to this appointment, she worked as a parole and probation agent from 2001 until mid-2013, which provided opportunities to serve the victims of Maryland. This chance to listen and meet victims where they are has made her empathetic and caring. As a retired woman, she cultivates plants and serves as a minister at her home church.
